ADVERTISING TRAINING ...HAPPY TEACHERS' DAY.

ADVERTISING HAS BEEN NOT ONLY MY PROFESSION BUT PASSION AS WELL.
WHEN I JOINED THE PROFESSION, THERE WAS HARDLY ANY ORGANISED COURSE NOR ANY PROFESSIONAL WAS VERY WILLING TO TELL THE FINER POINTS OF PROFESSION. LEST THEY LOOSE THEIR OWN IMPORTANCE.

WHATEVER, I LEARNT, WAS THROUGH TRIAL AND ERROR METHOD. AFTER HAVING LEARNT THE SECRETS OF BUSINESS, I DECIDED TO SHARE MY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE WITH ASPIRING TALENTS.

IN 1980s, MYSELF WITH LARRY GRANT AND GOVIND SAJNANI STARTED AAAI WORKSHOPS.
FLIPPING THROUGH MY OLD PAPERS I CAME ACROSS THE FOLLOWING NEWS ITEM, THOUGHT WILL SHARE IT WITH FRIENDS.


"AAREN ADVERTISING & H.R.COLLEGE CREAT ADVERTISING HISTORY

FOR A LONG TIME IT WAS MR. RAJENDRA JAIN'S, DREAM THAT A MAINSTREAM COLLEGE SHOULD IMPART VOCATIONALISED TRAINING IN ADVERTISING TO ITS UNDERGRADUATES.

RECENTLY H.R. COLLEGE OF COMMERCE & ECONOMICS BECAME THE FIRST COLLEGE TO GIVE SHAPE TO MR. RAJENDRA JAIN'S DREAM, EVEN THOUGH HE IS NO MORE.

A FOUR-WEEK BEGINNERSS, ADVERTISING WORKSHOP FOR THE FIRST, SECOND AND THIRD YEAR STUDENTS WAS HELD AT H.R.COLLEGE. THE WORKSHOP WAS SPONSORED BY AAREN ADVERTISING AND CONDUCTED BY JAMEEL GULRAYS OF RADEUS ADVERTISING.

THOUGH UNIVERSITY OF BOMBAY  INTRODUCED ADVERTISING AS A SUBJECT IN 1978 IT WAS FOR THE FIRST TIME ANY COLLEGE ORGANISED SUCH A PRACTICAL TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR ITS STUDENT.

THE WORKSHOP WAS DIVIDED INTO FOUR PARTS. DURING FIRST THREE PARTS THE STUDENTS WERE TOLD THE STEP-BY-STEP APPROACH TO AN ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN. IN THE FOURTH PART THE STUDENTS PRESENTED THE CAMPAIGNS WHICH THEY WORKED ON THE BASIS OF THE BRIEF PROVIDED TO THEM IN THE FIRST SESSION.

THE PRESENTATION WAS HELD ON 26TH SEPTEMBER 1992, AND EMINENT ADVERTISING PERSON Ms. ANITA SARKAR WAS THE CHIEF GUEST.

MR. AJWANI, PRINCIPAL AND MRS INDU SHAHNI, VICE PRINCIPAL OF THE COLLEGE EXPRESSED THEIR GRATITUDE TO AAREN ADVERTISING FOR HAVING ORGANISED THE WORKSHOP.
